I love stretch poplin for shirts, and this is a very good quality fabric with a bit of crosswise stretch and a semi-firm hand. There is no need for a lining in a dress, in my opinion. The color on the website is very true to the actual color. Very pleased with this purchase.
Rosa is AMAZING!!! She is polite, efficient, understanding and has GREAT taste!! She should get a huge “kick up the ladder” at MOOD.
I am from North Carolina and used to work with Denis (whom I also loved…). I need to explain what I am looking for in fabrics and Rosa gets it right every time! Kudos to MOOD FABRICS for having her on your staff!
These buttons are exactly as pictured & described online. It's a substantial button of good quality so it's going your way last a long time. The color is superbly green….i love it! The size is exactly as purchased.
The fabric is a nice weight for summer tops, with not too much stretch, making this knit is super easy to cut and sew. I truly love the butterfly print.
The print was perfect for a Mandarin style dress with an obi belt. It's beautiful fabric and easy to work with. Decided not to dry clean, after the washer and dryer, and after a good pressing the dress looks great.
Love dealing with Mood. Recently, our local fabric store has closed it's door.
We have a small group of women that live to sew. I will encourage our group to use Mood for all their fabric needs.
This is beautiful fabric, with a very slight 2-way, side-to-side stretch. It has a soft hand but is a substantial weight. I bought the pink, which is close to the online color depiction, though not quite as orange. More like a warm pink.
This fabric looks and feels great. The viscose crepe is light, comfortable, and relatively easy to sew. I got a couple of pulls when I wasn't careful, but I definitely did not need to baby the fabric. The print is just as bold and graphic in person as shown online. I ended up making a sheath dress and found the pattern went well with as few, large pattern pieces as possible. The vague vertical nature of the pattern repeat along the grain of the fabric added to the sleekness of the sheath silhouette. Ended up being a take on a little black dress. Also, did not need a lining.
This fabric looks and feels great and it was easy to work with. I really enjoyed it. This was my first time working with a tattersall pattern. I have worked with stripes before, but never with a pattern that went in two directions. I washed it before I started, like always, and I learned an important lesson. The warp got pulled crooked from the weft in the wash, and then I couldn't make the stripes line up in both directions anymore. I tried to tug the fabric straight again, but I never got it perfect. If I did the project over again, I wouldn't wash the fabric first.
I enjoyed working with this fabric, it reminded me of a slightly thicker version of viscose batiste. I did manage to get a couple of pulls when I was being less than careful, but they're not very noticeable among the print. The print itself reminds me of flowers in paintings, though it ended up being a little too dark for my taste. The photos online are a brighter than how the fabric appears in person. I still enjoyed what I ended up making, a pair of pants. Also, I found they did not need a lining.
As a wheelchair bound paraplegic male, I have a really difficult time finding pants that work for me. I can't have back pockets, I don't need zippers or front pockets, I need the fabric to stretch and remain dry and cool, and I don't need belts. After years of trying to make due with store bought pants that don't work, I finally decided to learn how to sew my own.
I have now made 7 different pairs of pants with the Papilio Stretch Ponte Knit fabrics. I made 3 pair with the light heathered grey, 2 pair with the zinc, and I just finished 2 pair with this tan color. I am actually back here repurchasing enough tan to remake the 2 pair I just finished because they shrunk 4 more inches in length after the first wash :( It's crazy because I washed some of the tan, zinc, and heathered grey in the same load before cutting the patterns, and then I washed all the finished pants in the same load AFTER they were finished. The heathered grey and zinc came out of the wash perfect, but the tan shrunk 4 more inches! Needless to say, I am going to buy a 1/2 yard extra tan per pair of pants this time, AND I am going to fully prewash the fabric twice. Hopefully this will save others this disappointment. Otherwise, all of the colors of this fabric have been equally amazing!
All in all, the Papilio Stretch Ponte Knit fabric is about as perfect as I could ask for. All of the colors have been extremely resistant to stains and dirt, they are extremely resistant to wrinkling (even after wearing them a second day), and they always bounce right back after being stretched. Considering that they are a heavier weight fabric, they're surprisingly cool and dry. They also wash up great, take well to ironing (though I've never needed to iron after the construction phase), and they are very quick to dry.
This fabric has a lovely sheen and the shades of beiges and blues and browns are watercolor-like, running through the print. There is a slight stretch and it is medium weight, very high quality.

I love the print and the metallic dots, I haven't made anything with it yet. It is slightly see through so I am rethinking making wide leg pants.

The fabric is beautiful with a slight stretch. I haven't cut it out yet. Too many projects.
