Love this fabric - it spoke to me as a designer. Made a pleated gown with some heavy strap detailing on the bodice. The fabric has beautiful shine and drape and color. Some might consider the fabric thin for a single layer gown, but I actually enjoy the slight sheer and sexual appeal this fabric provides. The bodice I had to fully line and interface. Might also be important to add the fabric came in a very narrow width, only 44" which is tight if you want a full circle floor length gown, but it proved to be a perfect length for pleating. <3
I've been wanting to find more sustainable options for my wardrobe, and decided to give this a try. Its shockingly soft! I made a jumpsuit from it (the mood cherry jumpsuit!) and it sews great, irons well, and is very durable. I need to make something from the other two colors!
I used this fabric as lining for my jackets and it's the most softest, light and airy fabric for what I wanted to accomplish. The print is also stunning for outer details.
This fabric could not be more perfect for a veil. The width and body are exactly what my daughter wanted! I'd be remiss if I didn't mention how much we love Mood, for their quality, and service! Thank you, Mood:kissing_heart:
This fabric is a showstopper, unlike anything I have ever worked with before. It is truly unique. Characteristics: paper thin (like dried seaweed), crispy, multi textured (from what looks like pure gold dripped on it to translucent white patches). It is a work of art. You will probably want to line it. I chose charcoal grey habotai silk, which turned out to have a brownish overtone. A pure black would have been better because it peeks through the translucent patches. How was it to work with? Very little fraying, but I did over stich all the raw edges on the inside of the garment. Easy to cut. My garment needed some hand stitching for finishing and the brocade sort of absorbed the stitches, so they are invisible. The fabric is a little puffy in places, but a good ironing got it nice a flat. I made a muslin mockup, and I am glad I did as some pattern adjustments were needed. This was an expensive venture, but the cocktail dress I made is stunning. Very happy with this choice.
I wil attempt to post a photo on projects page.

Smooth texture and easy to use to swimwear. Holds up in chlorine well. Pattern does not distort with moderate stretch.
