This fabric is beautiful. I love the texture. The boiling of the wool compacts the fibers so well that my sweater very warm. I am especially excited about the color. It is so close to being identical to what is on the screen. Looking forward to purchasing more of this boiled wool.
Lynn Mizono (Vogue 1312) provided the canvas, and this beautiful border print completed an artistic look. I used only the skirt of the dress and added a waistband. As well, I lined the bottom panels that run the hemline so the back side of the fabric (which is white) does not show with movement. I mirrored the border and left some of the navy background between, but the prints could also both be oriented upright, or no navy could be showing between. This sateen version of the print does have substantial weight, but it feels luxurious to wear. I used six panels (one for each pattern piece; I made a size 8, but it would accommodate several sizes up); an additional panel could also complete the bodice if desired.
I ordered a swatch of the black on black metallic brocade and it was just what I needed for my project. Just today, I received the 5 yards I bought and I can't wait to turn it into a Tudor gown along with a peplum jacket for personal use.
I am making heirloom dresses with lace yokes for my grand daughters. I am lining the lace yokes with silk organza so the yokes will be stinger. I will be making slips with silk organza at the top. I ordered 2 different colors as I wasn't sure which would work. Both are great!

I need strong needles for the purses that I make since they go through several layers of quilting. These worked great!
