I always take advantage of Mood's offer of affordable muslin. It's great to have on hand for practice and for actual projects. I've used some of it to replace a tattered pillow case and for a pair of drawstring pants (around the house only).
I needed to make covered buttons to add to a wedding gown. I used 2 layers of fabric ~ a thin silk charmeuse covered by lace. These new Dritz buttons are advertised that you can pop the back onto the front by just using a pencil eraser. NO! I had to use (E6000) glue and a set of plastic mold and pusher tools from the "older" version of Dritz covered buttons in order to get the top and bottom to stay together. The bride loves the final look ~ but it wasn't easy to achieve.
This was my first time ode ring from Mood fabric and I absolutely love the choice I made. The colors are so beautiful and vibrant. I will be ordering another color in the same fabric. I have received so many compliments about my fabric and the outfit that I made out of it.
I got one swatch and liked it so much I chose another with a different order. It's gorgeous! And thick, this stuff is worth the price. I've spent enough on swim fabric this season but it's on my want list for next year. And I made Moana a dress...
