The soft and lovely Talamanca Double Cotton Gauze is the ultimate summer fabric. I wanted to make summer weight loungewear/sleepwear, and the Blue Glass color is perfect for that porch ceiling "haint blue" vibe. Mood sent it quickly and there were no hassles with delivery.
I purchased this fabric to make a semi-fitted sleeveless blouse with a square neckline. The fabric is a woven cotton but is stiffer and more difficult to manage than I expected when viewing and handling the sample. I actually bent many pins when trying to lay out and cut my pattern. I had never experienced this before especially with a shirt weight cotton. I did manage to get my blouse sewn but it was an unexpected struggle.
I've reviewed other fabrics in this line/brand and they are all fantastic. This one ended up as the Seamwork Maggie swimsuit. The white background is not as opaque as their other products, but it was ok once I lined it using a nude tricot. Can't wait to wear it this summer!
Just needed a little more than I purchased from the Los Angeles store. I live 2-3 hours from that store so the online service was very convenient!
Thank you!
I needed it for this Danish Costume.
I like cotton blue florals for summer dresses in Houston. Cotton is the best fiber to wear in the high heat and humidity. Saw this fabric on the website, noted the 2% Elastane (stretchy synthetic) and figured the 98% cotton would overrule it.
I ordered it and it arrived swiftly. I pre-shrunk the fabric and made this dress. The fabric is a tad heavier than I expected, but.... What truly surprised me was the 2 pink stains. I tried to cut around the stains, but had to keep one, which is on low on the back panel of the dress. I realize the price was reduced, but never expected the stain. I've since worn the dress (it's a tad heavy.) and washed & air dried it. The stain is still there.
This is the first time any yardage from Mood has had such a flaw and I've been buying fabric from Mood for years.
I anticipate wearing the dress as the print is wonderful. I will assume, no one will see the faint stain on the back.
( just tried three times to load photos of the dress and stain and have not been successful. The site says "try again". I did. I could not add the photos all attempts.)
I used this for a collarless shirt; the rayon is a bit challenging to work with but totally worth it. It's very soft and flowy, nice and lightweight. And the pattern is great!

This is perfect for the waistline of my daughters wedding dress that I am making. She doesn't like a lot of bling but this is just enough!

So pretty, lovely drape. It's floppy as heck but that's what you sign up for with rayon.
