Super happy with my purchase! It was really difficult to find gold tone overall hardware, I'm so happy I stumbled upon this website. I will definitely be purchasing from them again in the future.
This is an interesting textile with a non-obvious repeat. The corded pattern is quite large and bold, so I would recommend using it for a project with as few seams as possible. It's fairly heavy and quite stiff. The cording is made of glossy black thread wrapped around an inner yarn so the ends will unravel if cut. The cording can be easily removed from the lace with a pair of sharp scissors; it's held on with a stiff shiny acetate (?) thread and the bobbin thread was also black (not pink), so the wrong side of this fabric is quite unsightly. You will need to line and/or bind the edges in some way. My project only had a back seam so I shaped it with darts by unpicking the cording, sewing down the dart, and re-embroidering the cording over the dart to disguise it. On it's own the lace is nothing particularly striking, nor is it particularly soft.
The measurements given are accurate, although my yardage was cut slightly diagonally on both ends which was very irritating; it's Mood's job as professional pattern cutters to cut fabric squarely especially in a textile like this where the selvage is weak and the grain is not obvious. This caused unnecessary difficulty in my project.
Would I use it again? No, only because it is so bold it doesn't belong for everyday wear.
I liked the colors but could not make into something I personally could use. I take pride in making garments where the center front matches going from left front to left front when the garment is made up. I could not make the pants I wanted match. I made a top that will go with navy pants that I already have. My roommate while I lived in New York had a very nice philosophy, if the New York designers could mae it happen then so could we.
I already knew I'd love this - bright bandana fun - cmon but the metallic touch makes it slightly glittery in the most non-tacky way and I love it EVEN MORE - EEEEEE!!!!
