The material is very smooth and luscious. The drape is lovely. The slip of the fabric makes it definitely more challenging to work with if you're used to the grip of a cotton, so take care with that. Has a little bit of stretch on the bias. The shine of the fabric reflects a lot of the surrounding light, so it can really be affected by the lighting you're in.
My Client wanted a dress made of 100% Silk and this fabric was the perfect fit! It creates body to the garment where you need it and the sheen is really pretty. She gets married this Saturday so I cannot show the full garment but here's a detail shot!
I made up a Mary Quant dress from a free pattern offered through the Victoria & Albert Museum website. Picked this fabric because the colorway was exactly what I pictured and I needed something with a little stretch. The dress is a slip-on model without a zipper/opening and the slight give was perfect. Lovely drape, washed up beautifully and sewed like a dream.
Wow. This fabric is absolutely gorgeous. The embroidery is exquisite, and I love how the yellow blends into the gold. I'm planning a gown for my 50th wedding anniversary celebration, and this fabric will be perfect. So looking forward to the dress project!

Lovely to sew. I love the soft drape but it is quite see through. Line, if using for a dress. Does wrinkle easily.

This is very light and airy and would be perfect for a scarf or nightgown or blouse or dress.

Very soft and touchable cotton fabric, but beware, it does look like a hospital gown.

This fabric is not stiff. Very difficult to hand sew. Aware of the weight but it is very slippery. There are also yellowed threads throughout.

This silk rocks. I seriously love it. I grew alum crystals on it and dyed it with fruits and vegetables. It works great and is beautiful.
