I purchased this brocade to make the Nova coat by Papercut patterns.
I first thought it was going to be hard to work with but it wasn't.
It was really easy to sew with and the end product shows that.
This fabric is to die for! I purchased it to be the lining of a coat but I also purchased enough to make a top with it.
The colors are so vibrant, and the design is simply beautiful.
This is not your normal Ponte. I agree with a previous poster that it has a lightly spongy quality to it, which confuses the heck out of computerized sewing machines with their many sensors. They just can't figure out how to stitch that thing. This is the first and only fabric so far in my long-spanning sewing career, that my Pfaff chocked on.
It took me an incredibly long time to figure out what to do. I tried different size ball-point and stretch needles with varied levels of tension and presser foot pressure. NOTHING worked. Some settings worked marginally better when stitching with the grain, but cross-grain was a nightmare, and in every case many stitches were skipped which would render the seams ugly and disheveled.
So this is what I did: size 70 ball-point stitched through tracing paper laid over the fabric. That did the trick. Yeah, it'll take a little longer to get through all the seams, but it's worth it because this fabric comes together like a dream. It's VERY heavy, has this creamy silky feel to it. Despite being heavy and thick, it drapes gorgeously. I made a fit-n-flare dress for my daughter's home-coming. I never thought I'd say that fit-n-flare will look gorgeous in sporty fabric, but it just does. The color is amazing (I bought lapis).
Great quality thread that never disappoints me. I use it for sewing rayon/viscose and silk, as well as silk blends. It's got great tensile strength but won't rip your fabrics. Perfect for hand sewing. I am addicted to this thread and want it in every color. I wish they made this in CONES for sergers too.
this suede is high quality, very soft and nice on touch. Its color is not bright and still trendy.Consider at least 6 hides for s size dress or at least 3 hides for xs-s top
Made a tracing of a shift dress I purchased at a store. The Mood shattered glass fabric was a little thinner than I expected but has nice drape. It looks and fits exactly like the shift dress I traced! Very happy with my new dress

It is a beautiful shade of red and very shiny. I bet the other colors will look great, too. A little scratchy when rubbing your fingers over it.
