For those unfamiliar with technical textile terms, bengaline refers to a fabric comprised of thick weft-wise ribs, whereas a moire is a watermark pattern which resembles the age lines within a tree's stump made by pressing two pieces of fabric together when wet. Its sleek and textured hand, paired with a structured drape, makes it best suited for formal gowns, cocktail dresses, or a unique formal tie. Its opaque composition makes a lining unnecessary, but may still be used if the project calls for it.Note: This fabric is considered flame retardant under NFPA 701 standards and testing, so you can feel safe while you look fab!Please Note: The dye lot of this fabric has changed as of November 2024.
