Our medium weight stretch cotton sateens own a stiff drape as a result of their soft, yet crisp facings and similar, but slightly textured backings. During creation, twisted staple fibers combine with elastomeric fibers to produce highly elastic textiles that are often woven white or blank for printing purposes. With a resilient stretch in the weft, this fabric has a multitude of possibilities; create garments that hug the body like ankle-length dresses, billowing midi skirts, high-waisted wide leg trousers, and more! I bought this fabric for a first time project and never having done this before, I was skeptical as to the suitability of the material since I could not view it in person. However, in my opinion, this pattern is must more aesthetically pleasing in person as the photo cannot capture how vibrant the print truly is. My only concern would be that the edges fray quite easily but sewing the edges before constructing your piece would be a great preventative measure. Other than that I would say that it works great with the machine and sews quite smoothly.
