Featuring a flexible drape, this medium weight cotton & lurex jacquard has a rather supple facing and soft hand, while its backing, with metallic threads, is scratchier in comparison. These silver strands, like icicles, hang parallel to the selvage and have a 22” vertical repeat running the length of the fabric. Jacquard fabrics often have remarkably textured surfaces that usually incorporate complex and detailed patterns into their designs. These patterns are woven on a special loom that enables individual threads to move independently. Design formal silhouettes like long dresses with contrasting satin sleeves, mid-length skirts with numerous layers of tulle, and more. Semi-translucent when held under light, a lining is recommended.
