Dry cleaning is usually preferable, but some rayons or viscoses can be hand-washed or machine-washed on delicate, cool water. Line dry. Test a swatch first.
These care instructions given are for Rayon and Viscose Fabrics in general, however, Mood Fabrics does not accept responsibility for fabrics that are incorrectly laundered/damaged by following these instructions. Customers must test a swatch before laundering any fabrics at home to avoid damaging the goods.

Today I finished sewing a pair of pull-on pants using this substantial ponte knit. I had pre-washed the fabric and it came out of the dryer smooth and very easy to sew. I haven't worn or re-washed the garment, so I will try to update after wearing it awhile.

As a wheelchair bound paraplegic male, I have a really difficult time finding pants that work for me. I can't have back pockets, I don't need zippers or front pockets, I need the fabric to stretch and remain dry and cool, and I don't need belts. After years of trying to make due with store bought pants that don't work, I finally decided to learn how to sew my own.
I have now made 7 different pairs of pants with the Papilio Stretch Ponte Knit fabrics. I made 3 pair with the light heathered grey, 2 pair with the zinc, and I just finished 2 pair with this tan color. I am actually back here repurchasing enough tan to remake the 2 pair I just finished because they shrunk 4 more inches in length after the first wash 🙁 It's crazy because I washed some of the tan, zinc, and heathered grey in the same load before cutting the patterns, and then I washed all the finished pants in the same load AFTER they were finished. The heathered grey and zinc came out of the wash perfect, but the tan shrunk 4 more inches! Needless to say, I am going to buy a 1/2 yard extra tan per pair of pants this time, AND I am going to fully prewash the fabric twice. Hopefully this will save others this disappointment. Otherwise, all of the colors of this fabric have been equally amazing!
All in all, the Papilio Stretch Ponte Knit fabric is about as perfect as I could ask for. All of the colors have been extremely resistant to stains and dirt, they are extremely resistant to wrinkling (even after wearing them a second day), and they always bounce right back after being stretched. Considering that they are a heavier weight fabric, they're surprisingly cool and dry. They also wash up great, take well to ironing (though I've never needed to iron after the construction phase), and they are very quick to dry.
