Our Dotted Pattern Paper is a sewist's MUST-have when it comes to developing, grading, or tracing patterns for sewing. Thirty yards of smooth bright white paper carry a one-inch grid of lines of plus signs alternating with lines of sequential numbers running vertically, and each yard is demarcated by a line of plus signs running across the width. Measuring just under 40 inches wide, it's the perfect size for dressmakers, fashion designers, and home sewists alike!Translucent enough to see through to your pattern while still durable enough to withstand pencil markings (and erasings!), it is friendlier to use than tracing paper or tissue paper. Scissors and rotary cutters slice through no problem, so much so that a layer of pattern paper and layer(s) of fabric can be cut at the same time with ease.Best for drafting sewing patterns and making alterations, expect to transfer your edits to muslin for making test garments, and use a thicker material for pattern blocks, slopers, or master patterns.Looking for a different quantity of pattern paper?     For years I’ve used a massive roll of newsprint to draft my patterns. It wasn’t the best, but it was cheap and big. When I ran out, I had trouble finding more. This stuff is an upgrade that I’m very happy with. It’s relatively inexpensive so I don’t feel inhibited about trying my ideas out, it is thin enough to kind of see through if you need to trace, the numbers and crosses make lining things up a breeze, and it’s lightweight but doesn’t tear too easily (like the newsprint did… I know, most people probably aren’t comparing to newsprint 😉 Also, it’s wider than most other options I found online, so I can draft fuller skirt without taping pieces together. All around, a good buy.

    Paper was well wrapped. The outside box was damage during shipping, but the heavy plastic wrapper protected the paper! Because of the way the line markings are printed in the paper, it is easy to make straight lines or other markings. It is thicker and more opaque than I thought it would be. However, I can still see through the paper to trace the pattern beneath.

    I enjoy pattern drafting probably more than I enjoy actually sewing the garments and this paper is so helpful. I used to use newsprint or rolls of craft paper from Ikea, but this is so much better! It's wide enough that I could draft the pieces of a full, midi-length skirt, but not so wide that it's awkward to manage. I can tape my patterning tools down and remove the tape without the paper ripping. The grid offers reference points when I am winging it. It might seem silly, but having this paper adds to my enjoyment of the craft. It is worth every penny.

    First time user and I love this product. I'd used other non-paper materials to trace patterns and they don't hold up as well. 30 yards may seem excessive, but I know it will get used up.
