Sew up all the diaper covers you need for your baby with this pattern. Economical, great fit, and dependably dry, these covers are environmentally friendly and perfect for baby and the earth! They are also comfortable, with an adjustable fit with quick and easy velcro closures and elastic on the legs and back waist. Make covers that are durable and washable! Two styles: a lined diaper cover with a pocket for inserting microfleece soaker pad; OR lined diaper cover without a pocket for use with soaker pad or commercial diapers.
Sizes - XS: 6 to 10 lbs; SM: 8 to 17 lbs; MD: 15 to 30 lbs; XL: 25 to 40 lbs.
Suggested Fabrics (also see “About Fabrics” in instructions):
Outer: Any waterproof breathable fabric.
Lining: Polyester microfleece, or other fabric which allows rapid penetration of liquid, preferably with wicking ability.
Soaker Pad: Microfiber toweling (inner layers only, unless using in diaper pocket — cannot be worn against skin), or any other absorbent fabric, such as french terry, cotton flannel, cotton or hemp jersey.
Notions:
Thread, 1/4 yd (23cm) of 3/4″ velcro hook & loop (MD & LG sizes can use wider velcro), 5/8 yd (57cm) of 1/4″ (.7cm) elastic.
