A racing shorts pattern for children that you can use to make your own biking (or running) shorts with a side stripe and a crotch chamois for comfort. Also could be used to to make bottoms for a bathing suit. This pattern uses very little fabric!
Suggested Fabrics:
Shorts: 80% Nylon/20% Lycra tricot knit, or other 4-way stretch Lycra fabric.
Chamois: Micro fleece and medium fleece for 2 layer padding.
Note: This pattern is sized for 4-way stretch Lycra fabric with at least 40% stretch.
Fabric Requirements:
45" or 60" wide fabric, all sizes - Main Color: 1/2 yd (.46m); Contrast Color: 1/4 yd (.23m)
Notions:
Polyester thread, 3/4 yd (.69m) 1" waist elastic, 3/4 yd (.69m) 1" grip elastic, and 1/4 yd (.23m) or 1 sq.ft. each micro and medium fleece for pad.
