When evaluating how to clean a garment with trim, one must decipher the most delicate fiber used in the overall project, then follow the cleaning instructions for that type of fiber; e.g., a garment constructed with wool, embellished with polyester trim would be cared for according to the cleaning instructions for wool; or, a cotton blouse, embellished with silk trim would be cared for according to the cleaning instructions for silk as it is the more delicate fiber.
