Teeming with texture, Shantung has a gratifyingly nubby hand paired with a visual grain all its own. Crisp yet pliable, this material is easier to work with than Dupioni as it is of a lighter weight, yet an opaque fabric. Opulent and plainly woven, this material features varied striations throughout that make it an ideal choice for grandiose ball gowns, suits and other heirloom garments.

At Mood Fabrics, we prioritize efficiency and strive to deliver your fabric orders in a timely manner. Most orders are processed within 72 hours, with international orders potentially requiring an additional 1-2 days for processing. Certain items may have additional processing time, particularly those beginning with PV, FS36003-, SUN, AWG, and "Home" products.

Once your order has been processed and shipped, we use various shipping methods. USPS Ground typically delivers orders within 3-7 business days, UPS 2nd Day Air guarantees delivery within 2 business days, and UPS Next Day Air ensures delivery the next business day after shipping.

For customers needing expedited options, we offer UPS Next Day and 2nd Day Air shipping, available for an additional cost. To qualify for expedited shipping, orders must be placed by 1:00 PM EST.

Please note that fabrics and trims are not returnable, while buttons and notions may be exchanged or returned for store credit within 30 days of the original shipping date.

    I ordered this for a costume based on the courtesans from Dangerous Beauty. It will definitely deliver for me. The fabric is mid weight with very fine slubs, densely woven and much more saturated in color than the swatch. Similar to taffeta but more solid feeling. I love it!
