Misses 6-20; Men's 32-48.
This Croatian shirt pattern is a traditional tucked linen shirt style which was worn by peasants, farmers, and shepherds in the Pannonian Basin, the northern farming district of former Yugoslavia. Originally made from homespun linen, but elegant in cotton, silk, and sheers.
This sewing pattern for the thigh-length shirt features simple straight panels of fabric, which are then tucked in front and pleated into shoulder yoke in front and back. The sleeves have underarm gussets and are pleated into cuffs. The notched collar and cuffs show the influence of tailored urban dress of it's time. The shirt has a front opening, self-placket, and buttons down the front. The pattern provides two lengths - the traditional thigh-length garment, and a dress-length.
The pattern includes historical information and instructions for decorative stitching and tucking techniques for the yoke.
