Multi-Sized Pattern - Short and Tall Lunch Bags

Skill Level:  2, Easy

This pattern is perfect for making an insulated lunch bag that you can carry to work or school every day!  Make this bag your own with fun fabrics for a durable and washable lunch or drink tote.  It will keep your lunch and drinks warm or cool - an inside velcro pocket can be used for ice.  And you can carry it by the short handles, or add a shoulder strap for convenience.  An outside velcro pocket gives you an extra storage place for napkins or utensils.

Bag Dimensions:
Short Lunch Bag: 9"h x 10"w x 5"d (fits 6-pack of cans and sandwiches)
Tall Lunch Bag:  13"h x 10"w x 5"d (roomy - fits tall bottles)

Fabric Suggestions: 
Outer Fabric: Waterproof nylon pack cloth, cordura, canvas, denim, or other rugged fabric.
Lining Fabric: Coated or uncoated nylon ripstop
Insulation:  Mylar needlepunch or Thermolam
Pre-quilted Lining:  Single-sided quilted fabric, veltex, or other padded fabric can be used in place of lining plus insulation.

Fabric Requirements, both bag sizes:
1/2 yd (.46m) of 45" or 60" Outer Fabric
1/2 yd (.46m) of 45" or 60" Lining Fabric*
1/2 yd (.46m) of 45" or 60" Insulation*
*If using pre-quilted lining fabric, 1/2 yd (.46m) is required.  Omit additional insulation.

Notions: 
Both Bags:  Thread, 1/4 yd (.23m) of 3/4" (2cm) hook & loop, 1/2" (.46m) #4 or #5 coil zipper, two #4 or #5 zipper pulls, four 1" (2.5cm) D-rings.
Short Lunch Bag:  2 yd (1.9m) 1" (2.5cm) webbing
Tall Lunch Bag:  2-1/2" (2.3m) 1" (2.5cm) webbing
Clip-on Shoulder Strap (optional):  1-1/2 yd (1.4m) 1" (2.5cm) webbing, two 1" (2.5cm) swivel snap hooks, one 1" (2.5cm) shoulder pad, one 1" (2.5cm) slider.
