This fabric is soft and billowy. It is thicker than regular gauze because it's two layers. I didn't feel a lining was needed for my full summer dress. A more fitted design in white would benefit from a lining. The red of the same fabric is more opaque. The thickness can add bulk to seams of more than two layers. I chose to reduce the amount of gathering to accommodate for thickness. Personally, I think that patterns with simple details would work best with this fabric. The fabric washes and sews well. I love it and want more colors!

The fabric is gorgeous! I purchased several colors, all of them are so delicate. It is thick and bubbly , but airy , very light and skin-friendly. White is a bit transparent but I made a home dress, like a caftan for summer and I can’t be more happy with my choice.
