I paired No. 339 Gutermann with 14 oz. Rag and Bone denim to create a pair of work jeans that are washed every other day. Eight months later the seams and the pockets' reinforced upper corners are still tight despite rigorous farm work.
Pay attention to the country of origin on Gutermann threads. This German-made thread was of high quality, while their Chinese-made thread labeled "Jeans Thread" sold elsewhere was a dramatically thinner product that might have been more appropriate for fashion jeans or projects using lightweight denim. (I ran out of the No. 339 just as I began hemming the legs and had to buy from a national chain due to a time crunch.)
