Owning a modest sheen, fuzzy gray yarns twisted with ones that are stark white intermingle with thin strands of black and others that are like snow. Perfect for lightly structured silhouettes, transform this mediumweight wool into cold-weather friendly ensembles. Bundle up in a frock or skating coat, match a cropped sweater with high-waisted trousers, or tailor a single-button blazer. Opaque, though lining your garment is highly recommended to help prevent seam slippage as well as to insulate warmth. We suggest underlining your garment with cotton voile, organdy, or batiste, and incorporating China silk, Bemberg, or another lining fabric for the interior. Whichever you may choose, we recommend finishing off seams with pinking shears and/or zig-zag stitches regardless.

Dry-cleaning is recommended, though some wools can take hand washing. Always test a swatch first if you are going to care for your wool fabrics at home rather than using a drycleaner. Many of the fine wools Mood sells online and in-store have already been "sponged," or preshrunk, but you can preshrink your wool if necessary. Mood recommends taking your uncut wool fabric to the drycleaners and asking them to steam it for you, which will safely preshrink it more effectively than you can using home methods.

I love this fabric and use it, and others, to make scarves for the homeless. The scarves are 12" x 72" and I use mostly wool or wool blends so they are warm. If I buy two yards of fabric, I can make four scarves. I put a label on each scarf that says "In Memory of Andy" who is my son who died a few years ago.

Nice fabric, good weight for trousers or tailoring, not super thick. Do note that the fabric is somewhat loosely woven and may benefit from being reinforced with some sort of tape in high-stress areas, especially on pants.
