I was looking for a patent leather effect and was not disappointed by the looks of the fabric. The fabric is very shiny. I was surprised, though, how lightweight it is, also stretchy in both directions. I used that for corset making so I obviously needed to line with thicker fabric (coutil). Like a latex, the fabric was very sticky to itself and any smooth surface. I handled that with baby powder when right side facing sewing was needed.

I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this fabric was to work with. Right sides together was super easy, but even right side out wasn’t a problem. It has some stretch but bounces back beautifully. Easy to cut. Exactly the sheen I was looking for. Photos are very accurate.
