Sewing a softie/stuffie with kids doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be as simple as drawing a
square.
If you don’t already know, a zenki is a softie or stuffie made from only two pieces
of felt and a running stitch around the torso. But it’s not only the simplicity of
materials and skills that make zenkis a great choice for a classroom or group
sewing project. The zenki design allows you to create softies without having to
insert and pin into place important but fiddly additions like arms, legs or whatever
else your kids might dream up.
This design concept minimizes difficulties, especially in the classroom. It makes
zenkis super simple to sew and gives them their wonderful expressiveness and
endless creative potential.
