The face features a radiant silver coloration using glass bead technology which allows for the "reflective" effect. The back is a plain gray cotton woven. Glass bead technology uses tiny glass beads to reflect light. Incoming light beams bend as they pass through the front surface of each glass bead and reflect off a mirrored surface behind the bead. The beam then passes back through the front surface and returns toward the light source. The process in return gives you a killer fabric to use for trimming, lining, safety garments, sportswear, etc. Try using this reflective fabric for detailing a windbreaker or piping for a motorcycle jacket.

I've been sampling various retroreflective fabric with swatches in the past month. And this one is the one that responded to light the best. Even shining light at angles to the surface of the fabric. The glass bead technology is the key. This particular fabric also has a nice thicker cotton woven backing to it. And is cheaper by the yard than a slightly more expensive alternative. Note that oils in your skin leave slight handling spots on the reflective surface. This only shows up under brighter light being reflected from it.
