Dry cleaning is usually preferable, but some rayons or viscoses can be hand-washed or machine-washed on delicate, cool water. Line dry. Test a swatch first.

I haven’t cut into this fabric yet, but I was bowled over by the quality! I’ve purchased ready-made clothing made – allegedly – of ponte that felt like the el cheapo polyester knit of my childhood – but this has a cottony, silky hand with good drape and lots of stretch. Can’t wait to sew with it! I will definitely be buying more!

I made a jumper for my granddaughter with this lovely fabric. I do suggest washing and drying it twice before cutting into it. It does shrink quite a bit being mostly rayon (15 inches from a 3 yard length), but is still lovely and great to sew with. I plan on getting more of this in a different color for a skirt and jacket.
Just take shrinkage into account when you buy it and wash and dry twice before you cut into it

I ordered this beautiful pink just because I saw it and decided to make a really fitted pencil skirt to work with a pretty spring blouse I loved this color, perfect for what I wanted, Now I will order more to make a jacket for after swim,( post work out jacket) It can take the lines of the pattern,, BUT I would equally use this for a more fitted dress, This is a beautiful ponte! ( and fabulous colors too!)
