The fabric is very smooth, and feels great to the touch. The reverse side is slightly matte. I would recommend basting this piece if you are trying to back or line it as it has a tendency to shift even when pinned in place. As a warning, the fabric tends to fray fairly easily. Overall, very lovely fabric with a great feel, I used it as the inside lining of a hood for an accent piece, and it is super silky and smooth!
