Dry-cleaning is recommended, though some wools can take hand washing. Always test a swatch first if you are going to care for your wool fabrics at home rather than using a drycleaner. Many of the fine wools Mood sells online and in-store have already been "sponged," or preshrunk, but you can preshrink your wool if necessary. Mood recommends taking your uncut wool fabric to the drycleaners and asking them to steam it for you, which will safely preshrink it more effectively than you can using home methods.

I was debating between 3 and 4 stars because:
I ordered 4 yards of Red Orange fabric to make a coat and when I unfolded it I found that it had multiple small (3-5 mm wide) black spots scattered all over on both wrong and right side of it, so I ended up using the fabric in non-economical way, patterning on the face side of it to dodge the stains, which was a major inconvenience given that I was patterning a long coat consisting of wide continuous pieces of fabric. I even overlooked 1 stain on the face side and now it is on the bottom of the collar. As you can tell, the stain frequency was not prohibitive for my project, so it was not a crucial defect, but it came with a cost of me still wasting some material and a lot of time, and I was not attentive enough and allowed one stain to be on my garment.
Otherwise, this fabric is a miracle! Very easy to work with, it behaves pretty much like paper, edges do not fray as if you were working with felted wool, so I found that serging the edges was redundant. The fabric is fuzzy on both sides, but with a more pronounced fluff on the face, however, it doesn't tend to shed much lint. It feels like a thin layer of marshmallow.
This fabric made me bring one of my creative dreams to life in the most brilliant way, which is worth 10 stars, but those stupid stains… In some areas they were pretty frequent. I would like to ask Mood's customer service to check if the stain issue is commonplace across the whole selection of colors or if I was "lucky", because for some people this kind of non-uniformity may end up being critical, especially on bright and light, crisp colors, like the one I picked. I myself would definitely purchase this fabric again in some other color if I was confident that I'd get immaculate uniformity.
